The Dorm Room Bar: Spiced Pumpkin Beer

The leaves have turned, the temperature has dropped and the Halloween (or Halloweek) craze is finally behind us. It’s time to move on from jungle juice, pretzels and candy corn and onto festively fall gatherings featuring savory snack food and “oh so delicious” fall inspired drinks. Here is the most delicious combination of beer and fall flavors–that means pumpkin–you’ll ever, ever see in a drink.

Bottoms up!

Pumpkin Ale Garnished with Brown Sugar and Pumpkin Spice
Serves 2; easily doubled, tripled, and more

I had this drink at a bar a few weeks ago and thought it was absolutely fantastic. After some questioning I found the recipe.

3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 bottle Punkin’ Ale by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery

Mix together brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice on a plate. Wet the rim of a glass and roll in sugar mixture. Pour in a bottle of Pumkin’ Ale and serve. Easy and delicious!
