Friday Recipe Round-up: It’s time for a New Year of New Recipes


Every week we’ll round up some of the best recipes, food writing, cooking tricks and drinking tips that every college student should know about.  Here’s what’s cooking in virtual kitchens around the web this week.

Start off a decadent 2012 with some new knowledge of truffles, and then make some more budget friendly sweet-sexy-zesty crostini with truffle oil.

This carrot soup is a great healthy choice with a twist of miso, bringing in some new flavors for a new year.

A citrus salad is a delicious and nutritious accompaniment to a meal if your resolution calls for some health food action.

The pear and parsnip tartine: this year’s version of a grilled cheese (you heard it here first), but open-faced (read: much more sophisticated).
